Full Duplex Relaying with Intelligent Reflecting Surface: Joint Beamforming and Phase Adjustment

In this paper, an optimization algorithm is proposed for the system, where a decode-and-forward (DaF) protocol based full duplex relay (FDR) and intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) work together to deliver message signals from source destination. The transmission carried out in single time frame due nature of FDR IRS. joint beamformers multiple antenna sets at along with phase adjustment elements IRS proposed. Though separate optimizations were available previously, one more challenging increased number signal paths impacts these new paths. To accommodate conflicting requirements different paths, are cleverly grouped into corresponding sets, met separately through values group. For beamformer optimization, we parameterize beamforming vectors, which results two concave problems relay. These implemented alternating manner reach reasonable solution. Simulation provided illustrate various implementation scenarios parameter sets. identify gains provides expected.
